LNG and Natural Gas

About LNG

Liquefied natural gas (LNG) is the liquid form of natural gas used in many European households. it is a mixture of hydrocarbons of variable composition, with methane as the main component, and may contain small amounts of ethane, propane, butane and nitrogen. LNG is cooled and stored at -162 °C and at room temperature the vapors are lighter than air. LNG) is essentially used for transportation and storage purposes as it takes up about 600 less space. This decrease in its volume makes it possible to transport it over long distances.

About Natural Gas

Natural gas is a naturally occurring mixture of gaseous hydrocarbons consisting primarily of methane in addition to various smaller amounts of other higher alkanes. Low levels of trace gases like carbon dioxide, nitrogen, hydrogen sulfide, and helium are also usually present. Natural gas is the cleanest source of primary energy, after renewable forms. The magnitudes of the emitted pollutants are clearly smaller compared to conventional fuels, while the improvement in the degree of efficiency reduces the overall fuel consumption and therefore limits air pollution.
